About the Office

The State’s Attorney is an elected position in Cecil County. The Office of the State’s Attorney represents the State of Maryland in all criminal prosecutions that result from crimes charged by local law enforcement agencies that occur in Cecil County, Maryland.

The Role of Our office

The Office of the State’s Attorney for Cecil County has the responsibility to prosecute all criminal, juvenile, and serious traffic offenses.

The Office has individual units for prosecution, investigations, victim services, and administrative support services. Although separated in title, these units work collectively to uphold the law and seek justice for the victims of crime and for citizens.

Staff work in conjunction with law enforcement, state and local government, and the public to provide information and services. The Office is also tasked with developing crime prevention programs in partnership with other agencies.
